In an increasing number of mathematics classes throughout the world, technology is being used for the teaching and learning of mathematics. But knowledge is limited about the long-term development of students’ mathematical thinking when learning mathematics with the use of technology. This article reports on the development of a student and the role of the graphing calculator (GC) in his learning about derivatives and instantaneous rate of change. This case is compelling, because the student is an intensive user of the GC and develops flexible problem-solving techniques – techniques which differ from those of his peers and from what he was taught in mathematics class. Unter den in Archiven und Bibliotheken erhaltenen Einband- und Makulaturfragmenten bilden die auf Hebräisch beschrifteten Reste jüdischer Handschriften eine besondere Gruppe. Die Erforschung dieser jüdischen Fragmente erfährt seit einigen Jahren in Deutschland und auch in benachbarten europäischen Ländern zunehmende Beachtung. Dennoch sind viele Funde noch unbekannt und konnten daher etwa auch im Rahmen größerer Editionsprojekte nicht berücksichtigt werden. We describe three patients with a complex syndrome of apparent arthromyodysplasia, dyscephaly, sacral agenesis, and hypoplastic digitis. Cause is unknown, but an environmental cause is suspected on the basis of ergotamine exposure in one case and diazoxide intake in another, together with suggestive similarities to anomalies seen in animals treated with these drugs and to calves with the Australian hydranencephaly/arthrogryposis syndrome caused by Akebane or Aino virus. Pathogenetically the primary defect may be a neural tube-neural crest dysplasia with multiple secondary and tertiary manifestations and deformities.

Comparison of mass transfer patterns, geometry and microstructures developed within and around veins allows the interpretation of processes of fluid flow during deformation, metamorphism and mineralization. A classification of vein types based on the degree of interaction with wallrock (using petrological, geochemical or isotopic indicators) can be used to identify a range of processes, from closed system behaviour in which the vein mass is derived from local wallrock, through to open system behaviour in which the vein mass is derived externally. [CA] El present article es centra en la vinculació entre els diversos exemplars de Crist portacreu de Gianfrancesco Maineri i els homònims de Paolo da San Leocadio. A través de diverses comparacions, tractarà d¿explicar-se la gènesi d¿aquest model, aportant, a més, dades que permetran una millor classificació dels exemplars leocadians. Finalment, es realitzen una sèrie de reflexions entorn de l¿hipotètic retorn de San Leocadio a Itàlia (1485-1489) i a la seua possible vinculació amb Maineri.
